NDI’s Premier Optical Tracker for OEM Robotic Surgery Systems
The Polaris Vega® XT combines unrivalled measurement accuracy, high-speed tracking, and low latency, facilitating easy integration of 3D tracking within surgeon-controlled workflows, autonomous OEM robotic surgery systems, and applications.
When used as a component of an OEM robotic-assisted surgical system, the Polaris Vega XT can track the robot base and end-effector positions in 3D space via attached navigation markers. Markers can also be attached to handheld OEM surgical instruments. The Polaris Vega XT can track the robot, surgical instruments, and patients in real-time relative to each other within the same coordinate system during the same procedure. The positions and orientations of each tracked object(s) are uniquely identified by their distinct marker configurations and instantly localized and visualized within the OEM host interface.
Unrivalled Measurement Rate
The Polaris Vega XT has an improved maximum frame rate of 400 Hz and reduced latency below three milliseconds, allowing fast and efficient tracking data transfer within robot-control systems. The frame rate remains constant even when multiple tracked tools are in view.
Enhanced Communication Protocol
The Polaris Vega XT optical tracker now supports both TCP and UDP network communication methods. Selectable through the API, the addition of UDP provides users with a better option for wireless host communications in time-sensitive applications.
Exceptional Measurement Accuracy
The Polaris Vega XT delivers volumetric accuracy to 0.12 mm RMS with minimal noise. Track tools with total confidence; hardware characterization and factory calibration optimize accuracy for highly repeatable and reliable measurements.
Ease and Speed of Integration
The Polaris Vega XT includes software, source code, and API tools to streamline the design and development of tools, and to speed integration with OEM software applications. The software suite also includes utilities to support ongoing system diagnostics and maintenance.
